NYCHA Concrete Retesting

New York City<br style='line-height:2px'>New York City Housing Authority

HAKS provided comprehensive concrete re-testing for over 32 NYCHA community centers. Re-testing was required by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) to verify previous test results that had been called into question.

HAKS reviewed building plans, reports, building department filings and surveys, and conducted site visits. We created individual re-testing programs involving concrete coring, probes and other methods to obtain information for determining the integrity of the concrete and thereby the stability of the community center structures. In addition to concrete testing, HAKS performed steel, welding, bolting, masonry, firestop, fireproofing, subgrade, and other inspections.

Comprehensive reports were delivered to NYCHA and DOB officials. Many critical life safety issues were remediated based on the retesting program.
