NYCDDC Topographic and Utility Surveys

Brooklyn, New York<br style='line-height:2px'>New York City Department of Design and Construction

HAKS provided survey services at multiple locations in Brooklyn for a design services term contract with the New York City Department of Design and Construction. We performed complete topographic and utility surveys of the project areas, including manholes, catch basins, inlets and outlets, pipe materials, rim elevations and inverts and all street features. The topographic surveys located all permanent fixtures, along with other pertinent features of each project site. The survey is referenced to the Borough of Brooklyn Sewer Datum. Specific assignments included:

  • 17 intersections adjacent to four public schools: Work involved field survey and preparation of topographical, utility and ROW mapping as part of the school safety program.
  • Flushing Avenue between Navy Street and Williamsburg Street: Work involved complete topographical, utility and ROW surveys for the purpose of street reconstruction.
  • North Flatbush Avenue – Atlantic Yard Areas Streetscape: Work involved field survey and preparation of topographical, utility and ROW mapping.
  • Brooklyn Children’s Museum Parking Lot Facility: Topographical, utility and ROW mapping were provided in support of a ULURP application for the purpose of acquiring the property as a future parking lot for the Museum.
