E. Ethel Little School Roof Replacement

North Reading, Massachusetts<br style='line-height:2px'>North Reading School District

HAKS is providing architectural and roof design expertise for the replacement of a 40,365-square-foot section of the built-up roofing system at the E. Ethel Little School for the North Reading School District. The roof replacement is necessary to resolve ongoing leaks that the school has been addressing over many years. The project is part of the Massachusetts School Building Authority’s Accelerated Repair Program and the study is funded by a grant from the Authority.

HAKS performed a detailed roof survey and investigation, including environmental and infrared testing and structural evaluation, to determine the condition of the roof system. Our comprehensive roof feasibility/analysis report included findings and recommendations to replace the existing roof surface at areas A and B (see image), and provided the school district with four roofing system options and cost estimate breakdowns. The report was presented to the North Reading School District, Town of North Reading Finance Committee and Town Administrator as well as at the North Reading Town Hall Public Meeting. We are currently working on the schematic roof design submittal phase.
