MTA Integrated Electronic Security System

New York City<br style='line-height:2px'>New York City Transit

HAKS served on the construction management and inspection team for the MTA Security Program, supporting the integrated electronic security system/command, control and communications system (IESS/C3) project. HAKS’ construction inspectors ensured the quality of the contractor's work and compliance with construction documents pertaining to the installation of conduit, wiring, CCTV cameras, and related security equipment and controls at New York City Transit subway stations and tunnels throughout New York City.

In addition to installation of both fixed and movable CCTV cameras, the system includes control boxes, fiber optic boxes, high- and low-voltage power boxes, and interconnections of clusters of up to 200 cameras and connections with communication rooms and central locations such as MTA police facilities. Interconnections with MTA Long Island Rail Road and New Jersey Transit facilities were also included.

We interpreted contract documents during disputes and helped NYCT with documentation and resolution; supervised contractor daily activities; coordinated flagging; prepared additional work orders; and witnessed system testing.

Work sites included subway platforms, shafts and tunnels; Grand Central and Penn stations in Manhattan; MTA facilities in Long Island City; and the Hudson River tunnels.
