Fort Washington Boiler Replacement

HAKS is providing Construction Management and Design services for the replacement of three oil-fired steam boilers with dual-fuel, 125-HP hot water boilers at 99 Fort Washington Avenue in upper Manhattan under an on-call contract with the New York City Housing Authority.  The $2.5 million project involves removal of space heating steam boilers and breeching, heat exchangers that convert steam to hot water, oil-fuel pump system, and boilers and oil pump concrete pads; specifications for the installation of new pads for dual-fuel boilers and dual-fuel pump system; hazardous material abatement/remediation;  and new dual-fuel boilers, breeching and appropriate dual-fuel burner system selection.

We are providing a temporary heating plan and revised natural gas capacity for the new gas burner, detailed A/E specifications for the entire project and support during construction and post-construction phases.

HAKS is completely managing and administering the project, which includes boiler design, load calculation, equipment selection, shop drawing review, and responding to RFIs.
