Brooklyn, New York<br style='line-height:2px'>New York City Housing Authority

HAKS provided CM/Build services for Local Law 11 remedial work and other repairs at the Bushwick Houses in Brooklyn for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). The development was built in 1960 on the 16-acre site, and contains 1,220 apartments in eight buildings between 13 and 20 stories in height.

The $9.3 million project called for brickwork repair at bulkheads, masonry repairs at the facades of the buildings and the replacement of all roofing at main roofs and bulkhead roofs. The latter included new tapered insulation, fascia, gravel stops and other related work.

HAKS’ services included pre-construction, construction, and post-construction management as well as other related services such as inspections.

Work began in March 2010 and was completed by March 2012 to meet federal funding deadlines. The development was part of the “federalization” of 21 NYCHA complexes with public-private participation using federal grants and bond revenues.
